Obituary for Angiolina Venditti

It is with devastation and broken hearts that we announce, the sudden passing of Angiolina (Angie) Marie Venditti (nee: Iagallo) of Thunder Bay on Monday, December 12, 2022 at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.
Angie was born to Teresa & Nicola Iagallo on June 9, 1963 in Macchiagodena, Italy. Angie immigrated to Thunder Bay with her family in 1976 and attended Selkirk High School where she made many lifelong friends.
In June of 1985, Angie married the love of her life Mario Venditti. Angie’s biggest dream was to become a mother and that dream became a reality when they welcomed their son Dominic Nicholas in February of 1986. Dominic was Angie’s purpose, and she dedicated her entire life to caring for him. No matter what the situation she never missed a school activity or soccer game and was there for every milestone in his life as a proud mother.
At the tender age of 13, Angie began her first job at Purity Bread, where she discovered a passion for baking. Angie also worked at Workers Co-Op as well as Mrs. Vanelli’s Pizzeria alongside her brother-in-law Tony. Angie’s love for baking led her to work for Nucci’s Bake-a-Deli. This allowed her to pursue her dream of baking for others, better known as Angel’s Baking Delights. Years later she became a Screening Officer at the Thunder Bay International Airport with Garda World (CATSA). Through hard work and dedication, she was promoted to Site Manager. Angie’s employees had great respect, love and truly valued her not only as a manager but also as a friend. Upon leaving this position, she was offered the opportunity to work alongside her high school friend, Debbie, at Rollason Flowers. This elevated Angie’s creative nature.
Angie’s dream was to see Dominic get married and settle down. She was blessed when Dominic met Rosanne and they celebrated their union on Sept 5, 2020. Her greatest joy was becoming a Nonna to Natasha Marie. Angie’s greatest desire was to spend as much time as possible with Natasha and teach her all the values she could. She was ecstatic when Natasha would run to her, kiss and embrace her daily. Angie made sure to make every moment memorable.
The void that Angie has left behind can never be filled. She always put everyone’s needs ahead of her own, while battling numerous health conditions including Lupus, Liver Cirrhosis, Diabetes, Cardio Myopathy, Celiac Disease and Lung Disease. Throughout all her ailments she never complained and lived life to the fullest and made lasting memories with her family and friends. Angie’s kindness and giving nature was evident at family gatherings and special events. She would bake cakes and goodies for all to enjoy and perfected all her recipes to gluten free and no one could ever detect the difference. Angie truly enjoyed surrounding herself with friends and family and hosting the most fabulous gourmet dinner parties, birthdays, BBQs, and bonfires.
Everyone was envious of Angie & Mario’s constant love, playfulness and affection they displayed. Their love never wavered regardless of the challenges they faced. Their marriage was built on a strong foundation, everlasting love, devotion and support and they were blessed to share 37 years of unconditional love.
Angie was predeceased by her father Nicola Iagallo, mother-in-law & father-in-law Rosa and Domenico Venditti, nieces, Nadia & Nicole Barile, grandparents and numerous relatives.
Angie is survived by her devoted and caring husband of 37 years, Mario, her loving son, Dominic (Rosanne), her granddaughter & greatest pride and joy Natasha Marie, her mother Teresa Iagallo, her sisters and best friends, Anna Barile (Tony), Marisa Barile (Domenico Jr.), nephews, Nicholas, Domenico, and Noah Barile and aunts, uncle and cousins. Special mention to her brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins in Italy and Australia.
Funeral Mass for Angiolina will be held on Monday, December 19, 2022 at St. Dominic’s Church at 11:00am celebrated by Rev. Michael Mahoney. Visitation will be held in the church an hour prior. Interment of ashes will take place at St. Andrew’s Cemetery immediately following the Mass. If friends so desire, donations to the Canadian Liver Foundation or Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
Angie’s family would like to thank the MCTU team of doctors as well as staff in the emergency department at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre for their determined care and compassion. A special thank you to nurses Cynthia and Christopher, who went above and beyond to provide comfort and support to the family.
