Obituary for Elda Pessotti

PESSOTTI- Ms. Elda Rita Pessotti age 96 years, a resident of Thunder Bay passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Born in Fort William, ON she was a lifelong resident of the city. She was an active member of St. Dominic’s R.C. Church and later St. Peter’s R.C. Church where she sang in the choir. Elda enjoyed music and especially enjoyed playing the accordion and the mouth organ. She worked at the Times Journal for 8 years and later Canada Car where she retired after 36 years. Elda belonged to the Ortona Legion, Venet Society, Can Car Quarter Century Club, Can Car Local 81 and St. Peter’s R.C. Church CWL.
She will be lovingly remembered by her brother-in-law Gordon Vase, Black River Falls, Wisconsin; nephews Richard (Pat) Pessotti, Thunder Bay and Darren (Mary) Vase, Black River Falls, Wisconsin; nieces: Debbie (Allen) Stucky, Thunder Bay, Beverly (Ben) Manuge, Minden, Ontario and Roberta (David) Lamps, St. Paul, Minnesota. Also surviving are special cousins Marion and Loris Brescacin, numerous grand nieces and nephews and other relatives.

Elda was predeceased by her parents Annibale and Catherine (Brescacin), sister Ines in infancy, brother Leonard (Jane) Pessotti, sister Norma Vase and brother Reno Pessotti.

Cremation has taken place and a funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 when family and friends will gather for Funeral Mass at St. Peter’s R.C. Church beginning at 10:00 am, celebrated by Rev. Joseph Arockiam. Interment to follow in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to St. Peter’s Church would be appreciated.
