Obituary for Felice Miele

It is with great sadness the family of Felice Miele announce his peaceful passing at home on March 1, 2023. Felice was born in Tufino, Italy August 8, 1937, and emigrated to Canada at a young age of 16. He met the love of his life Antonietta Foglia in Thunder Bay and they were married August 27th, 1960. They built a wonderful life together in those 62 years, spending their retirement years travelling, gardening, and loving his family, especially his grand and great grandchildren. Felice was the centre of his family and enjoyed nothing more than being a part of celebrations and gatherings with family and friends.
In addition to his love of family he was an active member of many community organizations, holding executive positions with the DaVinci Centre, the Italian Cultural Centre, and St Dominic’s Senior Committee. Felice loved to share his Italian culture and volunteered many hours with the Gran Sasso Club, and Italian Society Principe Di Piemonte. He also spent a great deal of his free time playing bocce, cards and sharing coffee and conversation with his various groups of friends, past coworkers and family.
Felice started his work career in construction with AJ Childs, becoming a master in his field and several years prior to retirement transitioned to the City of Thunder Bay, Public Works division from where he retired in 2002.
He is survived by his loving wife Antonietta, children Perry (Patti), Tony (Beth), Lucy (Doug Belanger), Ruby (Lou Paola), Anna (Vinay Kapoor), grandchildren Andrea, Douglas, Alyssa, Kayla, Phillip, Nicholas, Sameer, Naveen, great grandchildren Michael, Felix and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews in both Canada and Italy.
Felice was predeceased by his father Pellegrino, mother Lucia, brother Antonio, several in-laws and many close friends.
Felice has left a lasting impression on all he has met. His infectious smile, laugh and passion for life will be greatly missed.
