Obituary for Jacqueline Taylor

It is with great sadness that we mourn the passing of Jacqueline Mirjam Taylor, our beloved daughter, sister, cousin, aunt, and friend. Jackie passed away peacefully on November 22, 2022, at the age of 70 years after a brief illness.
Born on June 3, 1952, in Fort William, Jackie was the second of Ron and Mirjam’s seven children and spent her youth on Rankin Street, playing with her siblings, many cousins, and neighbourhood kids. She attended Northwood High School.
Jackie was wonderful with kids and, as an adult, she volunteered for more than two decades with the Boy Scouts of Canada as a beaver leader, “Hawkeye”, which brought her much joy. She also volunteered at the CMHA “Club House”, stopped only by her declining health. Jackie loved writing poetry, crocheting, swimming, and playing bingo, attending services at the Hogarth chapel, keeping up with her relatives in Florida and on the west coast and, of course, doting on her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, no matter their age. Family was everything to Jackie and she never missed a birthday, without fail sending a card and a long note outlining what was happening in her life at the moment. She was bubbly and kind, feisty and friendly, and she put so much of herself into thinking of others. We’re going to miss her so much.
Jackie was predeceased by her father, Ronald, and brother Jon and is lovingly remembered by her mother Mirjam, siblings Joanne (Rejean), Warren (Cathy), Lisa (Randy), Allyson, and David; her sister-in-law Jan Freeman; her dear friend Gail, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and friends in Ontario, British Columbia, and Florida.
As per Jackie’s wishes, cremation has taken place and family will gather for a celebration of life at a later date.
The family extends a sincere thank you to the staff of Hogarth Riverview Manor and the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre who cared for Jackie in her later years. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Diabetes Canada or the Canadian Mental Health Association.
