Obituary for Joseph Morriseau

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Joe. Joseph Francis Morriseau passed away on August 25, 2022, at home.
Joe loved the outdoor life of fishing, hunting, and camping with his family. Although he was ill, he did not let it deter him from doing what he loved most. He said he would live his life to the fullest. He was a kind and caring person, a loving family man and loved his grandchildren dearly.
Joe, Joanne, and Jack had great times fishing and camping with Joanne’s sister and brother-in-law Germaine and Brian Banning. In the past few weeks, he took his mom and sister on a beautiful camping trip, which was so special.
Joe worked for the Fort William First Nation for 19 years, starting out as a maintenance worker, then supervisor, and finally manager of housing, at which time he headed up the new subdivision, which he was very proud of. Before this, he worked as a carpenter and as a driver for UPS.
Joe leaves behind his wife Joanne Hardy, daughter Joelle Morriseau, two grandsons Liam McInnes and Jack Hardy, and two stepsons Jesse & Jordan Hardy. He will be dearly missed by his mother Elizabeth Pelletier, brothers Roland and Christopher Morriseau, and his sisters Stephanie Burns and Camille Morriseau.
Joe is predeceased by his father Joseph Morriseau, sister Colleen Dawn Marie Morriseau, grandparents Bernard and Lila Morriseau, father and mother-in-law Allan and Iris Hardy, and brother-on-law Robert Hardy.
Funeral services for Joe will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at 11:00 am in St. Anne’s Church. Interment will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, from 6:00 – 8:00 pm with prayers at 7:00 pm in St. Anne’s church. Memorial donations can be made to a charity of your choice.
