Obituary for Louise Heerema

Mrs. Louise Suzanne Heerema (Natte) age 44 years, a resident of Thunder Bay passed away at the TBRHSC on Friday, April 29, 2022. Louise was born and raised in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. In 2003, while attending teacher’s college in Rotterdam, Louise met her husband Jesse while he was playing hockey in Amsterdam. They married in 2009 and moved to Thunder Bay.
She was a natural caregiver, and a loving aunt to her nieces in Holland, Romy and Jade. Her family and children were her focus and meant everything to her. She loved making crafts and had a keen eye for fashion and interior decorating. She also enjoyed her summers back in Holland with the kids at her family’s summerhouse in Hellevoetsluis. Many fond memories were made with family and friends at the beach there. Louise was a passionate hockey mom and loved going to the rink to watch her children’s hockey games. She loved celebrating birthdays and holidays, and always ensured those occasions were memorable ones. Words cannot describe how much she will be missed.
She is lovingly remembered by her spouse Jesse, children Maes, LouLou, and Izzy, mother Louise van IJperen, brother Jan-Jaap Natte, nieces Romy and Jade Natte, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins from The Netherlands. Also survived by in-laws Geri and Harold Heerema, Jeff and Rachael Heerema (Aubrey, Eloise), Brent and Kristin Heerema (Logann, Brooke, Gavin), Luke and Gillian Heerema (Beck, Frances, Gracen).
Louise was predeceased by her father Jacob Cornelis Natte, and uncle Willem Natte in the Netherlands.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 1:00 pm at the Sargent & Son Funeral, 21 N. Court Street with Suzanne Quirion presiding. Should friends desire and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the TBRHSF - Northern Cancer Fund.

The family would like to thank all of those who have supported and uplifted them through this difficult time with prayers, calls, meals and words of encouragement. They would also like to extend their gratitude to Louise’s Care Team at the Thunder Bay Cancer Centre, as well as all of the nurses who supported her at home.
