Obituary for Philip Solomon

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Philip Roderick Solomon surrounded by family on March 5, 2022 at the Thunder Bay Regional Hospital. He was born on August 22, 1959 at Fort William. Philip was known by most people as Zog. Philip lived his entire life at Fort William First Nation. He worked at various jobs over the years including many years for the City of Thunder Bay Parks and Recreation, Fort William First Nation, the grain elevators. He also worked as a commercial fisherman. He loved being on the lake fishing or camping at one of the Islands on Lake Superior. He had a passion for fixing cars and motors, having tools for any job. Needless to say he was the mechanic in the family. He enjoyed spending time with family and especially with his children. Philip is survived by his children Ruby(Milo), Michael, Chris(Candace), Tim(Jacqueline) Charlie(Chelsea), their mother Wendy Solomon and eleven grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings Dixie, Rochelle, Lorraine, Arlene, Susan, Bill. Marina and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Philip is predeceased by his parents George and Dorothy Solomon, brothers Roger, George, Morris and Tom.
Funeral Mass will be Friday March 11, 2022 at the St Anne’s Church at 11 am. Interment at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
