It is with great sadness that the family of Ron Rothenburger announce his sudden passing on July 28, 2022 at the age of 71. Although born in Port Arthur he enjoyed the majority of his life in the Whitefish Lake area (aka the bush). In his youth he was a cadet, worked his way up to sergeant, speed skater, water skier (barefoot) and a musician. His love for being in the bush started as a child going with his mother while she worked winters cooking in the bush camps in the early 50’s. Logging and trucking started in his late teens working for his father which he continued to do for decades. He married his late wife Cathy 1970 and they happily raised their 3 children in the Whitefish Lake area until her passing in 2005. He was definitely jack of all trades and master of none as they say. The last years of his life he loved to drive for Erb Transport until his passing. He will be lovingly remembered by his partner June Hymers, daughter Rhonda Erb (Darryl), sons Jason Rothenburger (Tracy Liske) and Ryan Rothenburger, sister Pebbles Salo (Rick), brother Jamie Rothenburger, 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents William and Phyllis Rothenburger, his wife Cathy, and his 2 granddaughters Nicole and Amberlee. It was his wish to be buried with his mother and a private service will be held at the family’s request.
